Bosses have plenty of tricks up their sleeves, many of which can do quite sizeable amounts of damage if you’re not careful!Īs well as the standard 8 bosses, new foes Bit and Byte will turn up after you defeat 2 mavericks in the middle of stages, and if both are killed on their first encounters you will face a different boss entirely in Doppler’s fortress. The catch however is that you can only ever equip 1 chip so choose carefully! However if you are a particularly skilled player try finding the Gold armour upgrade in Dr Doppler’s fortress that will grant you the ability to use all 4 armour chips at once!Ĭapcom has also pushed the boat out further to make sure you won’t be completing this game in a hurry, as in my opinion it is the hardest to grace a Nintendo in a long time. As well as the 4 armour upgrades hidden in stages there are also 4 chips hidden throughout the remaining stages which can improve X even further. Levels also now include even more to discover. Armed with a buster and his Z Sabre he can cut through enemies with relative ease. Although he can’t fight bosses you can use Zero in any of the stages instead of X.

As soon as you start Megaman X3 you will notice the effort that Capcom have put into this game, most noticeably your ally Zero is now back helping you take down the evil Dr Doppler but is also a playable character for the very first time.
